3. Do you feel that race was a factor in getting hired or finding an apartment for Morgan and Alex?
I don’t think race was a factor in finding a job or an apartment. They were offered many apartments, they just could not afford most of them. Both Alex and Morgan had no trouble finding a job, and neither of them were ever fired. I am not saying that race does not play a role in who gets job interviews and who doesn’t. There have been multiple studies that show the exact opposite. But in Alex and Morgan’s case, race played no role.

9. Why do you think that Alex became so emotional about the services that were given to her and Morgan at The Free Store?
I think Alex became so emotional because she was used to being on the other end of the spectrum. She always had enough and she was not used to depending on the kindness of others. Also, because of the emotional strain put on her from living on such little money, she broke down.
