9.) Why do you think that Alex became so emotional about the services that were given to her and Morgan at The Free Store?

I think that Alex became so emotional because they were in such a hard place compared to what they are use to that it was so overwhelming to have that much help and kindness supplied for them. This whole idea of completely changing their lives is huge, they are use to a much more lavish lifestyle than what they were thrown into and just trying to transition must be very difficult as well for them. Transitioning into something new is always a challenge, let alone when your life is going from one financial aspect to another. Just a little bit of kindness can really go a long way, and for Alex and Morgan those few pieces of furniture gave them a home.

12.) Observe how easy it was for Morgan and Alex to get into an argument over finances. What is the underlying feeling that you this is at the cause of the conflict?

Fundamentally, both Alex and Morgan have very different ideas in how money should be spent and how finances should be handled. I think that this is the root of the problem because if you are living in such a tough financial situation and you and your partner are not on the same page then it creates a difficult and hostile environment. Especially when doing this experiment in the winter, by not having much heat and no way to really get from place to place efficiently, a lot can go wrong.  Morgan seems to spend a lot of his money without really thinking about it, for example when his niece and nephew came to live with them, he spent a whole days worth of work on a movie and some snacks. Alex was not happy because she knows how much she worked for that money and then it all was taken away within a matter of hours.
