6. Gerald's words on how his pay has not progressed to his liking over the pass twenty years is significant because nobody should be earning less then they were 25 years ago in this country, especially when the cost of living is constantly rising. However, his argument is not completely reliable because we do not know what has happened in the past 25 years that led to Gerald not moving up in the economic ladder.
9. I think Alex became so emotional when The Free Store helped her out because she has never or not recently been in a situation where money is as tight as it was for her then considering her husband is a movie star. Now that she is in this predicament and needs helps, receiving support means a lot to her.
